Service Terms & Conditions
Lucy Sunley Equine Massage Therpist & Equestrian Services
By booking a service with Lucy Sunley Equine Massage Therapist & Equestrian Services, you (the "Client") agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Professional Scope & Veterinary Act
-
Non-Diagnostic: I am a qualified Equine Massage Therapist, not a Veterinary Surgeon. I cannot diagnose medical conditions or prescribe medication.
-
Legal Compliance: In accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, I will not treat any horse that is currently lame, ill, or injured without express permission from your Veterinary Surgeon.
-
Maintenance Care: Routine massage for healthy horses does not require a vet referral, but I reserve the right to stop treatment and refer you to a vet if I find areas of concern.
2. Client Responsibilities
-
Preparation: Horses must be caught, stabled (if possible), and clean and dry prior to my arrival. I reserve the right to charge full price if a session cannot proceed because the horse is too wet or muddy to assess.
-
Safe Environment: The owner must provide a safe, level, and sheltered area for the treatment.
-
Disclosures: You must inform me of any known behavioral issues, allergies, or contagious diseases (e.g., Strangles) within the yard before my arrival.
3. Cancellations & Payments
-
Notice Period: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
-
Fees: Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, or "no-shows," will be charged [e.g., 50%/100%] of the service fee.
-
Payment: Payment is due [e.g., on the day of service / within 48 hours of invoice] via cash or bank transfer.
4. Equestrian Services (Riding/Training/Handling)
-
Safety Gear: For any riding or handling services, the horse must have well-maintained, safe equipment. The rider/handler must wear a hat meeting current British Safety Standards and appropriate footwear.
-
Risk: The Client acknowledges that working with horses is a high-risk activity. While all care is taken, I am not liable for any injury to the horse or damage to property occurring during the performance of agreed duties.
5. Health & Safety
-
Practitioner Safety: I reserve the right to terminate any session immediately if a horse’s behavior becomes dangerous. The full fee will still apply.
-
Biosecurity: To prevent the spread of disease, I follow strict biosecurity protocols. Please notify me immediately if your yard is under any movement restrictions.
6. Insurance & Liability
-
I hold professional Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
-
It is the Client’s responsibility to ensure their horse is insured for third-party liability and accidental injury.
7. Media Consent
-
I may occasionally take photos or videos for progress monitoring or marketing. Please inform me in writing if you do not wish for your horse to be featured on social media.
